FACT SHEET

 

Purpose: Promote the well-being of the children of Glen Leven School; provide a primary avenue for

communication between parents, teachers, the school Director, and the Day School

Committee of Glen Leven Presbyterian Church; contribute ideas to improve the quality of child education and care at the school; help acquire and improve the physical resources available to the school in partnership with the school Directors, teachers and school and Church committees; and support teachers, parents, and the school Director in their efforts to be effective care-givers to the children.

 

Membership requirements: All parents of children currently or recently enrolled, all teachers and   administrators associated with the school, and church members.

 

Officers and Executive Board: The executive board is the ruling body of GLDS PTO and is

comprised of the PTO officers, the chair persons of the Standing Committees, and the Day

School Director. (AD HOC committees will be constituted as needed.) The PTO officers are:

Meetings. elections. and voting on issues: There will be at least one business meeting held during the

Fiscal Year, September 1 through August 31. All meetings are open. The executive board will meet bi-monthly during Fall and Spring terms. Standing Committee and Ad Hoc Committee meetings will be scheduled as needed.

 

Activities sponsored or supported: Playground Cleanup,  Fall and Spring Fund-raisers, Thanksgiving

            Lunch, Teacher Appreciation Lunch,  plus support of classroom activities.

 

The GLDS PTO supports activities in the classrooms and out, both on-going and one-time. The care at Glen Leven Day School has been greatly enhanced by Parent/Church/School participation in these activities in the past; with your help we can continue that tradition. Please volunteer your time as a committee chair or just for a few hours during a school project or fund raiser - your reward will be immeasurable!
